Comments

Thanks for keeping your blog up to date! I also enjoy how you respond to the comments. It does help with your work-it is improving. I am seeing growth in your learning.

I am glad that you enjoyed the presentations and that you took a unique and creative approach to your presentation as well. You are making good connections to Macbeth and the questions.

Now do you think he is a tragic hero or not??????

tragic hero!!!

1. Please explain why you chose the method of presentation that you did?
We chose the method of a slow motion slideshow because it is a unique method of presenting an act and we also acted it out the old fashion way so our peers could compare and contrast the different methods of presenting.
2.What were your influences for this presentation?
Our influences was the simplified video of Macbeth that ashley found which was also a slow motion slideshow but they had a series of photos and we only had a few
3. Was this presentation any different then past presentations? Please explain.
This presentation was different because it was different in a way that most people did slideshows or a video rather than the old fashion way of acting instead.
4. Was this presentation any more challenging or was it easier than past presentations? Please explain.
I think that this presentation was easier because it was more enjoyable rather than dreading an act infront of the class and you could always redue something if u mess up so its much easier to do a video.
5. Do you find yourself writing more on your private blog or on the class blog? Please explain.
I find myself writing in my own blog rather than the class blog because I feel more comfortable having my own eyes and the teachers eyes see my work but i dont really mind it if i write on the class blog because i get to see what my peers views are of the play which is interesting.

presentation day!!!!! =)

Yesterday was presentation day and presentations varied from the old fashion acting to the modern technology of a video. I really think that they were all well done and the videos especially were fascinating in different ways, from humor to getting the point through to the audience. Overall I was very impressed at my peers work for this project and I look forward to projects like these in the future. =)

mondays class---

On monday, it was our last class before we presented our projects. In class we had to present what our act was about. For example, why was our act significant to the play and our act is significant because it is the second murder in the play and at this time people were now suspicious of Macbeth killing King Duncan and Macbeth starts to loose it. There were other questions that we answered in our presentation like what supports our act, or who were the main characters and how it connected to the other acts.

lab day!

Today in English class we were working in the lab. What my group did was find music for our presentations that were dramatic and creepy to set the tone to our presentation. Krista also typed up our script and we went over it which was really cool.

How do you see your act connecting to at least two EQ with examples from the passage.

How does power corrupt?
In the beginning of the play, Macbeth hears a prophecy that states that he is going to be the king, but Banquo is in the way of that prophecy. What Macbeth does is he orders 2 murderers to kill Banquo which is what happens in our Act, Act 3. In Act 3, after the murderers kill Banquo, Macbeth becomes king. And during the feast, Macbeth hallucinates and sees Banquo when he was already dead. From all the power that Macbeth gained and how he got there also connects to the other essential question: How far is one willing to “go” to get what they desire most? Because Macbeth went so far to get what he wanted, all that power that he gained is corrupting the way he thinks by hallucination and so he was very close at that moment to ruining his power therefore power does indeed corrupt.

Out of 20...

Out of 20 I would give myself a 20 because I had put a lot of effort into these entries and it would be a shame to not get credit on something that I tried really hard in.

Macbeth group project

For our group, which is Act 3 in Macbeth, we are going to pursue making a video to show the class, in our own interpretation. I am going to be the role of Macbeth and Fleance, Brianne is going to be Banquo, Krista is going to be Lady Macbeth and a murderer, and Ashley is the murderer of Banquo. Our group understands our act because we know what happens to Banquo and why and we are going to try to interpret this in a modern form. Banquo was killed because he suspected Macbeth killed the king, therefore he was a major threat to Macbeth. Macbeth wanted him killed so he hired two killers to murder him, and pursued them to think that Banquo was a big threat to the king. After Banquo is killed, at the feast Macbeth starts to hallucinate by seeing Banquo's ghost, because of all the guilty things he has accomplished. He ends up having a melt down in front of all his guests and Lady Macbeth dismisses them.

How does power corrupt?

Eng 11

Please select an essential question and answer it in response to what you have seen in the movie. Bring in evidence (examples) to support what you are saying as you answer your question. Please post your answer on your personal blog. Due Wed. Nov. 4

Essential question: how does power corrupt?
How does power corrupt? In Macbeth, Macbeth meets with three witches who tell him a prophecy of him becoming king. When he hears that he will get all this power, he then murders Duncan (the previous king) and therefore he is next on the throne so he is now king. So Macbeth becomes king but how he got there was inhumane. He murdered another person to get what he desired the most, power. This shows how power can corrupt because people would actually kill to have power just like Macbeth.
